Job Position: VAT Tax Consultant (client assignments)

We are currently seeking a VAT Consultant to join our dynamic team in Dubai. This role is ideal for professionals with solid experience in VAT compliance and advisory services, who are ready to contribute from day one.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver end-to-end VAT advisory and compliance services, including FTA registration, VAT return preparation and filing, and handling refund applications.
  • Manage VAT assessment reviews, Health Check reports, reconsideration requests, and waiver applications.
  • Provide support to clients during FTA audits and respond to ad hoc VAT-related queries.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to assess VAT implications for both local and international group structures.
  • Draft tax opinions and technical memos in response to client queries, collaborating closely with Corporate Tax and accounting teams.
  • Conduct in-depth research on UAE VAT laws and recent regulatory developments; prepare clear and concise technical reports and memos.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring timely and high-quality service delivery in compliance with UAE tax regulations.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal drafting, participation in B2B meetings, and delivering client presentations.
  • Uphold internal compliance standards, maintain quality control, and manage risk effectively across all engagements.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CA, CPA, CTA, ADIT (completed or in progress) are preferred.
  • A minimum of 2–3 years of UAE-based VAT consulting experience within a reputable firm is essential, along with a total of 4–5 years of overall VAT-related experience.
  • Sound knowledge of UAE VAT Tax regulations and Practice.
  • Familiarity with Corporate Tax and IFRS is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Must be currently residing in the UAE and available for immediate joining.

Job Description:

As a Corporate Tax Consultant, you will be mainly responsible for delivering comprehensive tax advisory and compliance services. Your role will involve supporting clients across a range of industries, ensuring they remain compliant with UAE tax regulations while optimizing their tax positions.

  1. Provide end-to-end corporate tax planning, compliance assistance, and advisory services, including FTA registrations, corporate tax return filings, and preparation of Corporate Tax Assessment Reports.
  2. Analyze financial and operational data to assess tax implications for both local and international group structures.
  3. Draft tax opinions and technical memos on client queries from a corporate tax perspective, in collaboration with internal teams such as VAT and accounting.
  4. Conduct in-depth technical research on UAE corporate tax laws, BEPS actions, and Double Tax Treaties (DTAs); prepare clear and accurate reports, memos, or articles as needed.
  5. Support clients during tax audits, respond to FTA inquiries, assist with dispute resolution and appeals, and address ad hoc client queries as needed.
  6. Collaborate closely with internal teams and maintain ongoing communication with clients to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  7. Build and nurture client relationships; actively support business development initiatives including preparation of proposals, participation in B2B meetings, and client presentations.
  8. Uphold high standards of quality, manage risk effectively, and ensure adherence to internal compliance and regulatory requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in taxation, Accounting, or Finance.
  2. Holding or pursuing a professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, CPA, CTA, ADIT, or an equivalent certification.
  3. In-depth knowledge of UAE Corporate Tax regulations is mandatory.
  4. 1–2 years of consulting experience in UAE corporate tax within a reputed professional services firm is mandatory with 4 to 5 years of overall experience.
  5. Demonstrated experience in analyzing financial data, identifying tax impacts, and implementing corporate tax strategies.
  6. Familiarity with Double Tax Treaty (DTT) implications relate to cross-border transactions under UAE Corporate Tax is highly desirable.
  7. Working knowledge of VAT and Transfer Pricing will be considered as an added advantage.
  8. Strong understanding of IFRS and accounting principles, particularly in relation to computing corporate tax provisions and applying deferred tax adjustments.
  9. Strong report writing, project management, and problem-solving capabilities.
  10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  11. Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
  12. Strong communication skills in English.
  13. Highly client-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple engagements effectively.
  14. Commercially aware, professional demeanor with the ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines.

Job Description:

  1. Prior consulting experience in HR and payroll is mandatory
  2. Set up the payroll client independently on the payroll software’s – Cloud software / MS-Excel with the details
  3. Expert knowledge on processing Payroll (with cost centers and departments as applicable) such as computation of Pro-rata Salary, Arrears, Accruals, Salary advance and Reimbursements in line with labour laws.
  4. Ensuring completeness and accuracy of entries with appropriate supporting documents.
  5. Prepare the monthly reports – Gross to net, Payslips, Gratuity and Leave accruals, Bank transfer files and other schedules as required.
  6. Draft employment contracts and other HR letters/certificates.
  7. Adhere to the Payroll calendar and reporting timelines.
  8. Working in a computerized environment with proficiency in Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  9. Travel within UAE if required.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  1. HR or Accounting qualification.
  2. 1 to 2 years of experience of working in any UAE payroll process and DEWS processing will be an added advantage with over all 4 to 5 years of experience.
  3. Knowledge of HR/Payroll systems & ability to work independently.
  4. Experience in HR reporting.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  6. Solid analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.

  2. Accurate recording of daily financial transactions in line with IFRS, from initial entries to final reporting.
  3. Recording of all closing entries at month end, including bank reconciliations, fixed asset, prepaid, accruals & payroll schedules.
  4. Ensuring completeness and accuracy of journal entries with appropriate supporting documents.
  5. Assessing internal controls, performing risk assessments, and reviewing key risk areas.
  6. Supporting the auditors with relevant information required to complete the audit.
  7. Working in a computerized environment with proficiency in Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  8. ⁠Experience in VAT return preparation and filing, as well as corporate tax compliance.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  1. ACCA / CPA / CA / M Com qualified.
  2. 4 to 5 years of experience in accounting including financial reporting
  3. Knowledge of Accounting systems such as Xero, Quick Books, Zoho etc. & ability to work independently.
  4. Experience in IFRS reporting.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  6. Solid analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  7. Must be available to join immediately.
